Take A Tour Of Highgate Village & Highgate Cemetery

Your ticket includes a guided tour of Highgate as well as a tour through Highgate Cemetery with a Cemetery Guide.

This walk is for all ages (usually most are 50+) and Diane, your Blue Badge Tour Guide, will introduce Who London ticket holders to each other at the start of the tour. 

In the morning you will explore historic Highgate Village with Diane to hear about some interesting inhabitants, past and present.

Stroll through Waterlow Park and view Lauderdale House where Charles II is reputed to have left Nell Gwynn, view a famous public school, discover where Coleridge purchased his opium and see the road which has played host to pop stars, writers, models and a famous classical musician.

After a break for lunch in an area with a good choice of eating places we take a short walk to Highgate Cemetery for a tour with a Cemetery Guide.

Opened in 1839 the Cemetery is the resting place of numerous notable people from Karl Marx and George Eliot to Malcolm McLaren and Alexander Litvinenko. The tour will concentrate on the West Cemetery which includes the Chapel, Colonnade, Egyptian Avenue, Circle of Lebanon, Terrace and Catacombs.

Meeting point: 11am inside the ticket hall of Highgate Tube station. (Tour finishes at 4pm at the Cemetery, which is within short walking distance of Highgate Village with numerous buses to a variety of destinations including Archway tube station.)
