A Perfect Way To End The Summer

£25 members & £27.50 non-members

Your ticket includes a guided tour and a canal boat ride aboard a boat hired exclusively for your group.

Please note Diane’s Walking Tours sell out fast.

This tour is suitable for all ages, but you will be introduced to other Who Londoners at the beginning of the event.

In the morning of this day event, you will explore the area around King’s Cross and St Pancras on a guided tour with Blue Badge Guide, Diane Burstein.

Once London’s most notorious red light district, King’s Cross has undergone a transformation. Even if you’ve taken a tour of this area before, there have been numerous changes in the past year. From the the gothic splendour of the old Midland Grand Hotel to the new Francis Crick Institute for medical research, we explore all the aspects of this rapidly changing area. Film locations, artistic venues, literary connections, industrial and railway history all feature.

The area’s food choices are expanding all the time so we’ll break for lunch before regrouping and boarding our own privately hired narrow boat “Freda”. We’ll share an hour long cruise along the Regents Canal to the City Road Basin, Islington, including the opportunity to pass through the mile long Islington Tunnel. Diane will give a commentary about the canal en route.

At the end of the canal boat ride your group will walk to Angel tube stopping to see the homes of three notable people on the way.

Tour meets on the upper level of St Pancras Station by the Meeting Place Statue of a couple kissing at 11.30am and finishes at Angel tube station at approximately 4.15pm.
