Interview With: London Kayak Tours
On Saturday 24th June London Kayak Tours will be taking us on an adventure! We interviewed them to find out a little more about what’s in store for us. More info about the day here. Get your ticket quickly!
1. What makes London Kayak Tours so special?
Kayaking offers a unique way to see London. All of our tours are guided by experienced and friendly instructors, and tours are suitable for both novices and experienced kayakers. They last around 90 minutes and are set in picturesque locations.
2. Who attends your kayaking tours?
We have all sorts of people attending our tours; 50+ groups, young people, and experienced or first-time kayakers! We also take out corporate groups and parties.
3. Please tell us about what we should expect on the day.
Each tour starts with an introduction and safety briefing and then it is time to get into your kayak. You will spend the rest of the time paddling along the water, learning new skills and seeing London from a different angle! It’s a really unique event for everyone. Find out more here.
4. What do attendees say after your tours?
Our clients love our tours and we have great reviews on TripAdvisor. Here’s one to share with you:
“…..No experience is needed – we all sat in the Kayaks on the grass so the footrests could be adjusted and our life vests checked and some basic paddle instructions. Then we helped each other to carry the kayaks a short distance to the canal. The team leader helps you enter the kayak, not too tricky but a highly amusing manoeuver. Then it’s off at a very gentle pace past the cages of London zoo heading towards Camden lock, passing the backs of some very expensive properties. It was a pleasure to see so much use the canal tow path was put to with walkers, joggers, and cyclists with plenty of activity on the water as well. Once at Camden we turned round and made our way back. At no time did we feel unsafe and being a small group made chatting easy. Getting out of the kayaks was more fun than getting in but no-one got wet. The weather was great which enhanced the experience. All in all as a couple of 64 year olds we really enjoyed it. TIP: a 5 minute walk into Regents park you come to THE HUB where you can change and store in secure lockers your clothes etc. It’s free to use and means if you got really wet you can have a shower and change into dry clothes – very useful.”
