A great annual event celebrating London’s buildings and architecture.

This is a free event, but the small charge is for our organising the itinerary and meeting point for everyone.

Whether you’re fascinated with architecture and design, the history of buildings or just like to look at beautiful features, this event is for you! Read more about Open House 2016.

There are hundreds of buildings opening up their doors to us during Open House* weekend, but we’ve put together this Guildhall event for Who London guests to join one another in this special event. You must book a ticket with us so we can email you our meeting point where you can get to know everyone before exploring Guildhall.

Below is your self-guided tour schedule
to follow together with your group (queues may mean timings get pushed back):

9.30am sharp – meeting point (to be emailed to you after you’ve booked your free ticket).

10am – Guildhall Art Gallery, Guildhall Yard EC2V 5AE. (Special exhibition Victorians Decoded and Vischer Redrawn, half hourly tours on a first come basis from 10.30am-4pm, entry: art gallery and Roman amphitheatre).

11.15am – Guildhall, Gresham Street EC2V 7HH (Great Hall, last entry 4.30pm). “The City’s seat of municipal government since 12C. Grade I listed, rare example of medieval civic architecture with post-war extensions and rebuilding.”

11.45am – The City Churches: St Lawrence Jewry, Guildhall Yard EC2V 5AA. “11C site with a stunning Wren building from the 17C. Now the official church of the City of London Corporation. Stunning ceiling and windows by Christopher Webb.” (Hourly history talks from 11am-3pm; mosaics exhibition and demonstration).

This event will finish at approximately 1pm-2pm, depending on queues. Then your group may decide to have a drink/lunch nearby, or even continue exploring.

Photos: We’d love to see how you enjoyed our event, so please do email in your photos of the group and the areas you visited to

Open House* was started in 1992 as a small, not-for-profit organisation to promote public awareness and appreciation of the capital’s building design and architecture. The intention was to open up London’s splendid buildings to the general public who don’t otherwise have access. Open-City saw this as a way of helping the wider community to become more knowledgeable, engage in dialogue and make informed judgements on architecture.
